Dermalux FAQ

Are there any side effects to the Dermalux treatment?

There is no risk of irritation, side effects or down time that may be associated with more invasive procedures. There have been no reported side effects in over 3,000 published clinical studies. However, it is important to be aware that photosensitive medications or health conditions may be contraindicated to the LED treatment due to increased sensitivity to light exposure. We will discuss this at consultation.

Will this give me a tan?

No, Dermalux LED Phototherapy does not contain the harmful UV rays that stimulate the melanin in the skin to produce a ‘sun tan’ effect.

How many treatments will I need to see results?

With LED Phototherapy, the results are noticeable right away. After just one session, your skin will appear more hydrated and radiant, with a reduction in any redness.

For longer-lasting results and treating specific conditions however, multiple sessions or a full treatment course tailored to your specific needs may be required. While a single session works well as a quick “skin pick-me-up,” consistent treatments taken in close succession will deliver the best and most lasting outcomes.

How is Dermalux LED Phototherapy different to my home LED face mask?

Dermalux LEDs deliver more energy per second at the peak wavelength and the most energy over the duration of the treatment than any other LED device, it uses the three most clinically proven wavelengths.

What does the treatment feel like?

Dermalux is a relaxing, pain-free experience with evidenced wellbeing effects. The treatment does not generate heat but a feeling of natural warmth is common due to the increase in blood circulation.
